Hidden within the most secluded and ancient landscapes of the world, Fairies—also known as the Fae—are enigmatic beings whose existence is deeply interwoven with the natural energies that shape their surroundings. Ethereal in both presence and demeanor, their delicate forms shimmer with an otherworldly glow, their wings reflecting the hues of the elements they command. These wings are not merely ornamental; they exude an iridescent dust known as 'elemental pollen,' a substance capable of both great healing and destruction, depending on the intent of the wielder. Unlike mere pixie dust of folklore, this pollen carries the raw power of their elemental affinity, reinforcing their connection to nature’s primordial forces.

Physiology & Traits

Fairies are naturally diminutive, their true forms typically no larger than a human hand. However, they possess the ability to size-shift, temporarily expanding their bodies to human proportions if necessary. This transformation, however, is taxing, requiring great reserves of energy. Their wings, while elegant and lightweight, are not without their limitations—sustained flight depletes their vitality, necessitating frequent rest periods akin to migratory birds.

Their eyes serve as a window into their elemental ties, shifting in color to reflect the power they wield and intensifying when they actively channel their abilities. Their lifespan is considerably longer than humans, with some of the eldest Fairies living for several centuries, their wisdom and experiences spanning multiple human generations.

Hydrokinesis – Their bond with water allows them to summon rainfall, shape rivers, and guide tides, often acting as guardians of sacred springs and hidden waterfalls.
Pyrokinesis – The embodiment of flame, they wield fire with calculated precision, from flickering embers to roaring infernos, capable of both destruction and warmth.
Chlorokinesis – Their command over plant life lets them accelerate growth, rejuvenate dying flora, or turn nature itself into a defensive barrier.
Cryokinesis – Masters of frost, they shape ice from moisture in the air, sculpting crystalline structures or encasing enemies in chilling grasp.

Many Fairies also practice a form of symbiotic magic, linking themselves with specific trees, rivers, or celestial bodies to enhance their power.

Behavior & Personality

Despite their delicate appearance, Fairies are not passive creatures. They are fiercely protective of their sanctuaries, often warding off intruders with illusionary tricks, traps, and, if necessary, direct confrontation. Some are mischievous, delighting in playful pranks and riddles, while others are solemn and contemplative, attuned to the natural rhythms of the world.

They possess an intrinsic wariness toward outsiders, particularly humans. Once, long ago, Fairies and humans coexisted peacefully, but history has been marred by betrayal and greed. Many humans sought their wings, believing them to possess powerful alchemical properties. This led to centuries of suffering—Fairies were captured, exploited, and subjected to brutal experiments at the hands of the Order of Celestial Vigilance (OCV), an organization that viewed them as tools for advancing magical science. Those whose wings were taken were left defenseless, often unable to survive without them. The scars of this cruelty linger, leaving many Fairies distrustful of human intentions.
