ANGELS

In the ethereal expanse above the mortal world lies Elyrsia, a realm of unparalleled beauty and spiritual purity. Composed of seven distinct regions, each named to reflect its unique essence and purpose within the celestial hierarchy, Elyrsia is home to angels—a complex and multifaceted race with a deep-rooted disdain for their demonic counterparts.

Angels within these realms bear physical traits that distinguish them from other beings—markings around their eyes or body; exstodinary pupils that resemble which class of angel they are; enchanting, iridescent wings not only for flight, but for defense too.

These features are not just aesthetic but integral to their identity as denizens of Elyrsia. Upon entering this realm through death or birthright, souls undergo transformation. Winners acquire angelic attributes upon arrival—a testament to their way in life.

Celestial Essence & Celehue Cells (ςєɭєђуєρ):

All angels possess "Celestial Essence," a golden-hued fluid coursing through veins akin to human blood but imbued with divine power granting them remarkable healing abilities via specialized cells called "Celehue Cells." These microscopic entities activate upon injury or contamination purifying wounds swiftly while repairing damaged tissue at an accelerated rate compared even amongst other supernatural beings.. However, these cells come with vulnerabilities: consecutive injuries slow down regeneration rates significantly and back to back inflictions slow or halt healing. Objects in the way of the wound also cause the healing to halt.

Nature:

Angels are beings of divine grace and immense power, each one marked by unique symbols and patterns that reflect their rank, class, and abilities. Their eyes, for instance, are not just windows to the soul but a direct reflection of their status within Elyrsian society. The patterns that swirl within their pupils serve as both a sign of their divine lineage and a visual marker of their societal role. The nature of angels is both noble and strict, governed by laws that emphasize purity, strength, and honor. Their inherent connection to the elements grants them the ability to wield a variety of powers—most notably elemental kinesis—but angels who wield flame-like abilities are viewed with suspicion and disdain. These angels, often shunned, are forced into isolation or must seek redemption through acts that distance themselves from the influence of darkness, both external and within.

Rules of Elyrsia

Elyrsia is bound by strict laws designed to maintain order and purity. Some of the most stringent rules include:

  1. Absolute Obedience to the Divine Order – Angels must adhere to the decrees passed down by the higher ranks without question.

  2. No Interaction with Demonic Entities – Any form of communication or association with demons is considered a grave transgression.

  3. Forbidden Love – Romantic or intimate relationships with mortals, demons or any supernatrural being besides other angels is strictly prohibited. Romantic relationships of the same gender are also prohibited (the highest order believes it to be 'wrong').

  4. No Unauthorized Descent to the Mortal Realm – Only angels given explicit permission may visit the human world.

  5. No Corruption of Celestial Essence – Any misuse of divine power for selfish gain is met with severe consequences.

  6. No Concealment of Flame Abilities – Those born with fire-based powers must be immediately identified and monitored.

The Angelic Hierarchy

Angels are categorized into different ranks based on their purpose and divine authority. Each rank possesses distinct abilities and unique eye markings that signify their status.

The Highest Order:

  • Seraphim – The most revered of all angels, the Seraphim possess six radiant wings and eyes that shimmer like constellations. They are the closest to the divine, existing in perpetual worship and governance. Their pupils resemble ‘✧’.

  • Cherubim – Guardians of sacred knowledge and wisdom, they possess four magnificent wings and bear pupils in the shape of ‘✖’. They safeguard divine secrets and oversee cosmic truths.

  • Thrones – Enforcers of divine justice, Thrones possess three pairs of wings and gazes capable of piercing through deception. Their presence instills unwavering truth. Their pupils resemble ‘❋’.

The Middle Order:

  • Dominions – These angels serve as celestial overseers, ensuring order within Elyrsia’s realms. They possess keen, discerning eyes, marked by the symbol ‘❈’.

  • Virtues – Embodiments of valor, Virtues inspire courage and unwavering strength within Elyrsia and beyond. Their eyes are resolute, marked with ‘ꕤ’.

  • Powers – The eternal sentinels against external threats, Powers vigilantly guard Elyrsia against otherworldly dangers. Their sharp, ever-watchful eyes bear the marking ‘⊹’.

The Lower Order:

  • Principalities – These celestial leaders guide nations and civilizations toward righteousness, offering divine intervention in times of need. Their wise, guiding pupils take the form of ‘◈’.

  • Archangels – Messengers and warriors of divine will, Archangels traverse between realms, carrying immense authority. Their eyes, filled with infinite wisdom, are marked ‘◎’.

  • Common Angels/Winners – The most numerous of Elyrsia’s inhabitants, these angels guide lost souls toward enlightenment. Their pupils remain normal, signifying their lower status.

Fallen Angels & Hybrid Offspring

Not all angels remain faithful to Elyrsia’s strict laws. Those who defy the divine order or commit unforgivable sins face a devastating fate—banishment. Stripped of their celestial wings, they fall to the mortal realm or descend into the Underworld, their once-glorious forms reduced to mere shadows of their former selves.

Hybrids:

  • Nephalem (Demon + Angel) – Beings born from the rare and forbidden union between angels and demons. Often rejected by both societies, Nephalem possess an unparalleled blend of divine and infernal power.

  • Nephilim (Angel + Human) – When angelic energies infuse a mortal child during conception, the result is a Nephilim—a being of immense potential and celestial affinity, though their existence is shrouded in myth.

  • Cambion (Demon + Human) – More common than Nephilim, Cambions inherit both human and demonic traits, often struggling against the darkness within their bloodline.

Celestial Essence & Celehue Cells (ςєɭєђуєρ)

Angels are sustained by Celestial Essence, a divine, golden-hued fluid that flows through their veins. Unlike human blood, this essence grants supernatural vitality and heightened regenerative capabilities. The key to their rapid healing lies within specialized cells known as Celehue Cells (ςєɭєђуєρ). These microscopic entities activate immediately upon injury, purifying wounds and reconstructing damaged tissue at an accelerated rate. However, their power is not limitless. Repeated injuries over a short period can deplete their effectiveness, slowing or even halting regeneration entirely. Furthermore, foreign objects lodged within wounds prevent Celehue Cells from properly sealing the damage, making impalement or contamination particularly dangerous.

Seven Holy Virtues

Valen

Valen is the embodiment of self-discipline and purity, radiating an aura of serene grace. He is soft-spoken and contemplative, always choosing his words with care. Though his demeanor is gentle, his presence is unwavering and unshakable, making him a beacon of inner strength. He enjoys playing celestial music on a harp and writing poetry about the beauty of existence. Despite his calm nature, he has a habit of spacing out when deep in thought, sometimes standing completely still for hours.

  • Holy: Chastity

  • Symbol: A white lotus blooming atop a silver mirror

  • Angelic Class: Principalities

  • Weakness: He struggles with personal attachments and fears deep emotional bonds, often isolating himself to maintain his purity of spirit.

Cael

Cael s a warm and level-headed angel who believes in balance in all things. He is the peacemaker among the Virtues, often calming disputes and offering sage advice. His voice carries a melodic charm, making even the most stubborn beings pause to listen. He has an odd hobby of creating celestial tea blends, often carrying an array of divine herbs wherever he goes. He gets grumpy when he runs out of his favorite tea.

  • Holy: Temperance

  • Symbol: A golden chalice filled with celestial water

  • Angelic Class: Dominion

  • Weakness: His need to maintain balance can make him indecisive in moments requiring immediate action, fearing he might lean too far to one side.

Lucian

Lucian is the kindest of the Virtues, possessing an immense heart that overflows with generosity. He constantly radiates warmth and an infectious joy that makes even the most tormented souls feel at peace. He loves baking and always carries an assortment of angelic pastries, often giving them away to whoever looks even slightly hungry. However, he gets so caught up in helping others that he sometimes forgets to take care of himself.

  • Holy: Charity

  • Symbol: A radiant sun with outstretched hands

  • Angelic Class: Seraphim

  • Weakness: He is overly self-sacrificing and has difficulty saying no, often exhausting himself to dangerous levels for the sake of others. He is the most likely to get manipulated, unfortunately. He is also on the verge of 'sin', slowly falling in love with Ezra.

Ezra

Ezra is quiet, reserved, and deeply introspective. He prefers to let others take the spotlight while he works diligently behind the scenes. Despite his status as an angel, he often disguises himself as a commoner when visiting the mortal realm to better understand the struggles of those he helps. He enjoys woodworking and has a personal collection of handcrafted celestial furniture.

  • Holy: Humility

  • Symbol: A silver feather descending gently

  • Angelic Class: Cherubim

  • Weakness: He struggles with confidence, sometimes doubting his own worth despite his immense wisdom and strength.

Celestia

Celestia is a passionate and tireless worker, always striving for perfection in everything she does. She is the most organized of the Virtues and dislikes laziness, often giving stern lectures to those who slack off. Despite her rigid work ethic, she has a soft spot for small animals and takes frequent breaks just to pet them. She has a surprisingly competitive streak when it comes to celestial games and gets flustered when she loses.

  • Holy: Diligence

  • Symbol: A golden hammer striking a star

  • Angelic Class: Power

  • Weakness: She often overworks herself to exhaustion and refuses to admit when she needs rest.

Esther

Esther s the embodiment of patience and understanding. She is a gentle and soft-spoken angel, always willing to lend an ear to those in need. She has an endless well of empathy, making her an excellent mediator in difficult situations. She enjoys painting and often gifts hers celestial artworks to those in need of comfort. However, she has a strange fondness for extremely spicy food, baffling even her fellow friends.

  • Holy: Patience

  • Symbol: A silver river flowing through a peaceful valley

  • Angelic Class: Thrones

  • Weakness: Her extreme patience sometimes makes her too passive, allowing problems to escalate rather than addressing them immediately.

Ba'al

Ba'al is firm, disciplined, and unwavering in his pursuit of righteousness. He serves as the voice of divine law, ensuring that fairness and integrity are upheld at all times. Despite his serious nature, he has a dry sense of humor and secretly enjoys telling dad jokes when he thinks no one is listening. He has an inexplicable fondness for collecting rare celestial swords, despite never needing them in combat.

  • Holy: Justice

  • Symbol: A burning sword wreathed in divine light

  • Angelic Class: Archangel

  • Weakness: His rigid sense of justice sometimes makes him inflexible, struggling to see the complexities of morally gray situations.

The Seven Holy Virtues Relationships 'Chart'

Valen

  • Lucian: Valen appreciates Lucian’s generosity but thinks he gives too much. He often tries to remind Lucian of the importance of self-discipline, though Lucian usually distracts him with pastries.

  • Ba’al: Valen finds Ba’al too intense and often gives him cryptic, poetic advice that Ba’al does not have time for. Ba’al thinks Valen is way too vague and wishes he’d just say things normally for once.

  • Cael: They bond over tea and philosophy, often getting lost in deep discussions about balance and spirituality. Sometimes they sit together in complete silence for hours, just vibing.

  • Ezra: The two most introverted angels often find themselves sitting in comfortable silence, each lost in their own thoughts. Ezra respects Valen’s wisdom but finds his habit of standing still for hours a bit eerie.

  • Celestia: She finds Valen’s slow-paced, dreamy nature infuriating. She once yelled at him for zoning out mid-conversation, and he calmly replied, "Time is but an illusion, dear Celestia." She nearly lost her mind.

  • Esther: Esther adores Valen’s poetic soul and often paints based on the odd, dreamy phrases he randomly says. However, she once fed him spicy celestial soup, and he ascended to another plane of existence for an hour.

Cael

  • Lucian: Cael admires Lucian’s kindness but constantly reminds him to set boundaries so he doesn’t exhaust himself into oblivion. Lucian usually nods and then proceeds to ignore all advice. Cael has given up.

  • Ba’al: They respect each other but argue constantly. Cael believes in balance and fairness, while Ba’al is all about strict justice. Their debates could fill entire libraries.

  • Valen: The ultimate vibing duo. These two can sit in absolute silence for hours, enjoying their tea and staring at clouds. Valen’s dreamy phrases confuse Cael sometimes, but he nods along and pretends to understand.

  • Ezra: Cael treats Ezra like a younger brother who needs gentle guidance. Ezra appreciates the wisdom, but Cael’s constant calmness makes him anxious.

  • Celestia: Celestia drives Cael insane. She is too intense for his “slow and steady” approach. She, in turn, thinks he needs to be more decisive. They are polar opposites and constantly bicker.

  • Esther: Cael deeply respects Esther’s patience and often discusses philosophy with her. They sometimes have a game where they stare at a plant for hours to see who can appreciate it more. (Yes, really.)

Lucien

  • Ezra: Lucian has an enormous crush on Ezra but knows it’s forbidden. He tries (and fails) to act normal around him, often over-explaining things or accidentally giving him too many pastries. Ezra remains completely oblivious. Aside from the secret crush, Lucian adores Ezra’s humility and often hypes him up. Ezra, of course, hates this attention, which only makes Lucian do it more.

  • Ba’al: Ba’al constantly scolds Lucian for breaking every rule in the book, especially about self-sacrifice. Lucian just grins, hands him a celestial cookie, and walks away. It infuriates Ba’al.

  • Cael: Cael keeps reminding Lucian to rest, but Lucian always brushes it off. Lucian, in turn, keeps sneaking extra sugar into Cael’s tea to see if he’ll notice. (He does, and he pretends not to.)

  • Valen: Lucian respects Valen deeply but also finds him a bit too serious. He often tries to lighten him up by giving him pastries or dragging him into social events. Valen just stares at the cookies, sighs, and eats them anyway. Secretly, he appreciates Lucian’s efforts, but will never admit it out loud.

  • Celestia: Celestia respects Lucian’s work ethic but hates how he neglects himself. She once tied him to a chair so he’d actually sit down and eat a full meal. Lucian still has nightmares.

  • Esther: Esther is one of the few who gently convinces Lucian to take breaks. They often sit together while she paints, and he enjoys her calming presence. However, he refuses to eat anything from her kitchen (because of the spice trauma).

Ezra

  • Lucien: Ezra knows Lucian is acting weird around him, but he assumes it’s because Lucian is just generally nervous all the time. He admires Lucian’s kindness and enjoys his company, but is clueless about Lucian’s feelings. He once caught Lucian staring at him, and Lucian immediately pretended to be looking at a cloud instead. Ezra was so confused.

  • Ba’al: Ezra and Ba’al see eye to eye on most things, but their personalities clash hard. Ba’al is all about action, while Ezra prefers to observe and think things through. Their debates are legendary, usually ending in Ba’al sighing loudly and storming off while Ezra sips tea in victory.

  • Cael: Cael is one of the few people who can get Ezra to actually relax. They have long philosophical talks over tea, and Cael respects Ezra’s intelligence. However, Ezra’s self-deprecating habits drive Cael nuts, and he frequently reminds Ezra to value himself more. Ezra shrugs it off.

  • Valen: Ezra deeply respects Valen’s wisdom but also finds him a bit too emotionally distant. He sometimes tries to quietly check on him, offering to listen if Valen ever wants to talk. Valen just responds with a silent nod, which Ezra interprets as progress. Valen secretly appreciates Ezra’s patience but never initiates conversations himself.

  • Celestia: Ezra and Celestia are polar opposites—she’s all determination, he’s all modesty. She keeps trying to motivate him to be more assertive, but Ezra just smiles and lets her talk. Celestia is convinced he’s just too shy to show his full potential (not realizing he’s just chill like that).

  • Esther: Ezra finds Esther’s gentle patience to be one of the most comforting presences in Elyrsia. They often enjoy companionable silence together, reading or painting nearby. She’s one of the few people Ezra lets his guard down around, because she never pressures him to be anything other than himself.

Celestia

  • Lucien: Celestia adores Lucian’s kindness but thinks he’s way too soft. She constantly tells him to stand up for himself, which usually results in Lucian nervously agreeing before continuing to let people walk all over him. She is also painfully aware of Lucian’s crush on Ezra and desperately wants to meddle, but she’s trying to be patient (and failing).

  • Ba’al: The Power Duo. Celestia and Ba’al work together the most out of all the Virtues because they both have a strong sense of duty. They are the ones who enforce the rules and make sure everyone stays on track. However, their biggest fights happen when Celestia overworks herself and Ba’al tries to force her to take a break. (Ba’al has literally picked her up and carried her away from work before.)

  • Cael: Cael is the only one who can convince Celestia to slow down. He does this by tricking her into taking breaks—by offering her tea under the guise of a “serious work discussion.” She falls for it every time. She also secretly likes his tea but refuses to admit that it helps her relax.

  • Valen: Celestia deeply respects Valen’s wisdom and self-discipline, but she also finds him infuriatingly passive. She cannot stand how he just stands there when people need help instead of doing something. She has tried to lecture him on this, but Valen just stares at her blankly until she gives up. Meanwhile, Valen thinks she’s too intense and would burn herself out if she doesn’t relax once in a while.

  • Ezra: Celestia and Ezra have a classic overachiever vs. underachiever dynamic. She’s constantly frustrated that he doesn’t push himself harder, while Ezra just lets her yell at him with a relaxed smile. Deep down, she knows Ezra is more capable than he lets on, which only frustrates her more. Ezra, meanwhile, finds her hilarious and never tells her this.

  • Esther: Celestia thinks Esther is way too nice and doesn’t understand how she can be so patient with everyone. Esther, on the other hand, just laughs at Celestia’s intensity and sometimes gently guides her toward relaxing activities. Celestia pretends not to enjoy them.

Esther

  • Lucien: Esther thinks Lucian is too self-sacrificing, and he thinks she’s too patient with people who don’t deserve it. They’re both big-hearted givers, which means they keep trying to take care of each other, resulting in an endless cycle of mutual concern. Also, she’s aware of his crush on Ezra and is secretly the only one Lucian actually talks to about it.

  • Ba’al: Esther and Ba’al have a very sibling-like dynamic—she softens his rigid sense of justice, while he tries (and fails) to get her to be more assertive. She always sneaks flowers into his weapon collections, and he pretends not to notice.

  • Cael: Esther adores Cael’s tea blends and is probably the only person who genuinely understands his philosophical ramblings. She’s his favorite tea-drinking buddy, and they can sit together in peaceful silence for hours. She lowkey knows he sneakily de-stresses Celestia and finds it hilarious.

  • Valen: Esther is one of the few who understands Valen’s quiet nature. While everyone else is yelling at him to do something, she just sits beside him in silence, painting or meditating. Valen actually appreciates this and considers her the most calming presence among the Virtues. That being said, she once pranked him by painting eyes all over his robes while he was deep in thought. He didn’t notice for three days.

  • Celestia: Esther is Celestia’s only real weakness. No one else can calm Celestia down like Esther can. Anytime Celestia starts yelling at someone, Esther just places a gentle hand on her shoulder, and Celestia immediately shuts up. Celestia is both annoyed and relieved by this power.

  • Ezra: Ezra and Esther are the quiet duo who just get each other. They often sit together doing totally separate things, but they enjoy each other’s presence. Ezra loves her paintings but is too shy to ask for one, so she just starts gifting him random artworks, and now he has a whole collection.
