DEMONS
In the vast expanse beneath the mortal world lies the Underworld, a realm divided into distinct regions, each with its own unique characteristics and torments. Unlike the human perception of "hell," this domain is not merely a place of suffering but a complex society where demons dwell, governed by their own laws and hierarchies. The known regions include Infernia, Flanmdife, Unendliche, Kaijima, Xianxia, Gaecheon, Razviet, and a rumored eighth region, Astre.
Demons within these realms bear physical traits that distinguish them from other beings—markings around their eyes or body; pointed ears attuned to whispers from beyond; horns signifying strength or rank; clawed nails sharp as daggers; fangs designed for tearing flesh; tails that serve as both balance and weapon.
These features are not just aesthetic but integral to their identity as denizens of the Underworld. Upon entering this realm through death or birthright, souls undergo transformation. Sinners acquire demonic attributes upon arrival—a testament to their transgressions in life—and must face an eternity reflecting on their wrongdoings unless they find redemption through acknowledging guilt.
Demonic Essence & Demohues Cells (๔є๓๏ђยєร):
At the core of every demon's being flows Demonic Essence—a black-hued fluid pulsing with energy akin to blood in humans. Within this essence lie specialized cells known as Demohues Cells (๔є๓๏ђยєร), which facilitate rapid healing through regeneration on site while providing resistance against diseases and poisons lethal to other beings. However, these cells come with vulnerabilities: consecutive injuries slow down regeneration rates significantly and back to back infliction's slow or halt healing. Objects in the way of the wound also cause the healing to halt.
Nature:
Cannibalism among demons is rare yet potent—it amplifies strength based on genetics and consumed prey type. Sinners who consume fellow sinners gain minimal power boosts compared to devouring actual demons—a taboo act that exponentially increases strength but at great moral cost. Hellborn demons possess innate abilities often tied to fire manipulation due to their origins within Underworld's heartland. Yet exceptions exist—rare individuals gifted with powers unrelated to flame—making them sought after for both study and fear by those above ground. Demons can undergo a "demonifying transformation" where their flames, hair, nails, horns and tail change color and their sclera turn black and it's basically a power boost. Eating human flesh triggers insatiable cravings leading some demons down a path towards becoming "feral"—outcasts hunted relentlessly by the OCV or angels alike due to their unpredictable nature threatening both worlds' stability. Within the intricate layers of the Underworld, a complex hierarchy governs the interactions and power dynamics among demons. At its pinnacle stand the Seven Demonlords, each embodying one of the deadly sins and ruling over specific aspects of demonic society.
Regions of the Underworld:
The Underworld, often misunderstood by humans, is not merely a realm of torment but a vast and intricate civilization composed of distinct regions, each with its own cultures, laws, and societal structures. The demons that inhabit these lands, known as the Hellborn, are as varied as the nations of the mortal world, with unique traditions, histories, and even conflicts among them.
While some regions embrace the classical idea of fire and brimstone, others are cold, misty, or even eerily serene. Each realm holds dominion over its own economy, governance, and way of life. Some trade, some war, some isolate themselves—yet all are bound together by an unspoken balance of power within the Underworld.
Infernia – The Imperial Core
Often seen as the political and military heart of the Underworld, Infernia is a highly structured and hierarchical region where law is absolute and power is centralized. This land is ruled by a council of high-ranking demons, known as the Infernal Assembly, who dictate policies that affect not only Infernia but also the rest of the Underworld.

The Seven Deadly Sins

Each has a tragic past that intertwines with their dominance, burdened by loss, betrayal, or sacrifices that forever shaped their reign. These dark figures are both feared and revered, embodying the very essence of their sins, yet each is haunted by the shadows of their former selves.
Satan
Once the Empress of the Underworld, Satan was the embodiment of wrath and vengeance. Her reign was long and ruthless, her fury unchecked as she crushed rebellion and led countless wars across Hell. But after centuries of endless battle and bloodshed, her heart grew weary. In a moment of quiet defiance, she abandoned her throne, fleeing the Underworld for the mortal realm in a desperate bid for peace. For six fleeting years, Satan lived a life of love and family, building a family with a mortal man. But fate was cruel. Her peace was shattered when her husbands co-workers found out about his affairs with a demon, calling the Order of Celestial Vigilance. In a desperate act, she demanded her eldest son to consume her, leading to her death in the mortal realm. Despite her death, Satan’s rage still lingers, and her name is whispered in both fear and reverence. Her legacy remains, fueling the fires of rebellion among those who seek freedom from the sovereigns' iron rule.

With an unmatched charisma, he built alliances and waged wars, taking the throne of the Underworld by force. His pride, though immense, is not entirely without pain; he constantly longs for the love he was denied in Elyrsia. Lucifer’s greatest heartache lies in his relationship with Layla, a beautiful and powerful Succubus. Their love, though deep, was condemned by the divine laws of Elyrsia, which forbid any union between angels and demons. Lucifer was forced to abandon their son, casting him into the mortal realm to protect him from divine wrath. The weight of this decision haunts him daily.

He is the master of contracts, trade, and dark bargains, ensuring no deal is ever made without his profit. Yet his greed was his downfall. Long ago, he fell in love with a mortal woman, Sylvaine, whom he showered with riches and luxury. But she wanted nothing of his gold—only his time and devotion. Mammon, obsessed with obtaining more wealth, neglected her, believing that one more deal, one more kingdom conquered, would finally make them happy. By the time he realized his mistake, she had withered away, dying in solitude. He built a golden mausoleum for her, yet no treasure could fill the void in his heart. To this day, he seeks something to replace what he lost, but no amount of riches will ever be enough.

Long ago, he loved an angel—Eliora, a celestial being of purity who swore she could love him despite his nature. For a time, they defied both Elysia and the Underworld, meeting in secret and dreaming of a future together. But love, in its purest form, is selfless, and Asmodeus’s very essence was built on hunger, need, and craving. He betrayed her trust, partying and having fleeting conquests behind Eliora's back. No matter how much he consumed, whether food, knowledge, or power, his hunger only grew. His own people feared him, whispering of his insatiable appetite. When his kingdom’s food supply dwindled and he began consuming his own servants, they turned on him, exhiling him from the palace and as a noble. Desperate to become more than he was, he stole the identity of a slain prince, wearing his face, stealing his power, and taking his throne. But even then, the people whispered—he was not the real one. No matter how hard he tried, he could never escape the truth that he was only a reflection of another. In her earlier days, she sought to create a perfect paradise, one where demons and angels alike could rest and be free from labor. But in her quest to create rest, she grew more and more detached from her own goals, letting others do the work she once desired to control. Now, she is a ruler who sits idle in her mansion, watching as the world around her stagnates, her once-bright ideals fading away.

Other Demon Classes
Archdemons
Description:
Archdemons are powerful, ancient beings who once ruled over vast regions or even acted as high-ranking generals in the great demonic wars. They are formidable, holding considerable influence within the Underworld, though they are not quite as powerful as the Seven Sovereigns. Their strength comes not only from their physical might but also their mastery over flames, strategies, and political maneuvering. Many of the Archdemons possess divine or semi-divine traits, making them respected, even feared, by other Hellborn.
Role:
These demons serve as commanders in the Underworld’s armies, scholars of forbidden arts, or diplomats and rulers of smaller territories. While they may not have the raw power of the Sovereigns, their tactical genius, charismatic influence, or vast knowledge of the occult can make them just as dangerous.
Notable Characteristics:
-
Some Archdemons are bound by pacts or oaths that limit their power, creating an interesting dynamic between ambition and restraint.
-
They often have vast, sprawling fortresses, vast libraries of forbidden knowledge, and armies at their command.
-
Despite their might, they often struggle with envy, rivalries, and power struggles amongst themselves.
Succubi/Incubi
Description:
The Succubi (female) and Incubi (male) are highly seductive and manipulative beings who thrive on the desires of others. Known for their physical allure and supernatural charm, these demons are dangerous not for their brute strength but for their ability to bend mortals and even other demons to their will through pure attraction and manipulation. Their power stems from the psychological and emotional dominance they exert over those they seduce.
Role:
Succubi and Incubi are often used as spies, manipulators, and agents of chaos. They are capable of causing discord between regions or manipulating key individuals into making decisions that benefit their own hidden agendas. While they do not rule territories themselves, their influence can be felt across regions as they slip in and out of the lives of the powerful, leaving behind broken hearts, shattered alliances, and chaos in their wake.
Notable Characteristics:
-
They are capable of absorbing the life force or souls of those they seduce, feeding off of the emotional energy, lust, or even despair of their victims.
-
Succubi and Incubi often appear as perfect, almost dreamlike beings—embodying the deepest fantasies or desires of their targets.
-
They are notorious for leaving a trail of broken hearts and corrupted souls, making them both alluring and destructive.
Lesser Demons
Description:
Lesser Demons are the common all over the Underworld. They lack the grandeur or power of Archdemons or Sovereigns but are essential to maintaining the infrastructure of the Underworlds society. They are often tasked with menial jobs, serving the greater demons in various capacities or performing simple tasks like guarding gates, managing resources, markets or enforcing minor laws.
Role:
They fill the ranks of demonic armies, serve as laborers, and take on the day-to-day duties that keep the Underworld's regions functioning. While not particularly powerful, their sheer numbers make them dangerous when they band together, and they are often called upon for various types of menial labor or to do the bidding of their more powerful superiors.
Notable Characteristics:
-
Lesser Demons come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, often designed for the specific tasks.
-
They often bear the markings of the sin they relate to the most (such as scales for envy or talons for wrath) and are often lowly regarded by the higher-ranking demons.
-
Their power is usually limited to brute force or flames, but they are often relentless and unforgiving in their duties.
Imps
Description:
Imps are small, mischievous demons often seen as the “troublemakers” of the Underworld. They are not as physically strong as Lesser Demons, but they are cunning, quick, and capable of using quick agile combat or tricks to accomplish their goals. These demons are typically used for scouting, spying, and as messengers or servants for more powerful demons.
Role:
Imps often serve as informants or “pests” who stir trouble among mortals or demons alike. While they can be easily ignored or disposed of by more powerful beings, they are often the first to deliver important news or reports, making them indispensable to the power structure of the Underworld. Their small stature and quick wits make them ideal for sneaky tasks.
Notable Characteristics:
-
Imps have an affinity for chaos and disorder, often spreading mischief where they go.
-
While physically weak, they are incredibly fast and difficult to catch.
-
They possess an impish, playful nature and are usually more interested in creating trouble than carrying out meaningful tasks.
Hellhounds
Description:
Hellhounds are ferocious, loyal beasts bred for hunting, combat, and servitude. They are used by demons for tracking down enemies, hunting down fleeing souls, or guarding important locations. These creatures are often bonded to their masters in a deep, symbiotic relationship, serving with fierce loyalty and unyielding strength.
Role:
Hellhounds are primarily used in battle, as they are often able to track enemies through Hell’s vast and varied landscapes. They can also be used for torturing souls or acting as terrifying enforcers of the law. These beasts are bred for one purpose—strength, loyalty, and fear.
Notable Characteristics:
-
Hellhounds are often described as large, wolf-like creatures with glowing eyes, sharp teeth, and fire-infused fur.
-
Their loyalty is unmatched, though they are known to be completely savage in battle, attacking without mercy.
-
Many Hellhounds are paired with specific demons or serve as companions to certain regions, being fiercely protective of their domain.
Sinners
Description:
Sinners are mortal souls condemned to the Underworld for the transgressions they committed during their lives. These souls are punished eternally in the various regions of the Underworld, with their torment tailored to match their earthly sins. Sinners can come from any walk of life, each bearing the weight of their wrongdoings in a way that ensures their suffering is unique and endless. The only way to end tthe suffering is if they reconcile with their guilt, then and only then, will they be rewarded into Elysia.
Role:
Sinners serve as both a source of torment and a reminder to the living of the consequences of their actions. They are the raw material for the Underworlds's eternal machine, endlessly tortured to maintain the power structures of the Underworld. Some sinners may attempt to rise from their torment, attempting to gain favor with powerful demons, but most will spend eternity locked in their punishment.
Notable Characteristics:
-
Sinners are often unrecognizable due to the severity of their punishments, their bodies twisted or altered to reflect the nature of their sins.
-
They can experience endless suffering or undergo specific, surreal trials that reflect their most horrific memories.
-
Some sinners retain a sliver of hope or defiance, attempting to rebel against their fate, but few succeed.
